We are delighted to welcome Anna to the Body Control Pilates Central with her first class filmed for us!
As the title suggests, this class is focused on exercises which will help women who are experiencing the perimenopause and menopause, with an emphasis placed on building strength and maintaining flexibility.
You will need a small ball (overball) and set of hand weights for this class (if you don't have any, a couple of tins from the kitchen cupboard will work as substitutes!). You can gradually build up the strength of weights used providing you are still able to main your stability and alignment.
Equipment can be purchased from Sissel UK: www.sisseluk.com.

Anna qualified as a Body Control Pilates Teacher in February 2022. She also works as a registered part-time health nurse for the NHS.
In February 2025, Anna joined the medical tutoring team at Body Control Pilates. She tutors on the Pilates for the Menopause course for qualified Pilates teachers and is also a supervising teacher for student Pilates teachers.
Mild back problems led Anna to try Pilates 10 years ago. Anna loves how Pilates can challenge anyone from a beginner to the very fit. Anna believes Pilates benefits everyone from the younger to the older adult. She loves teaching Pilates and helping people achieve their fitness goals. Whether that be to tone up, to strengthen their body, to improve performance in other activities, to improve balance and posture. Or just to simply move more, or move better.
Anna continues to invest in her development as a Pilates teacher and is currently qualified to teach matwork, Reformer Pilates, Back4Good 1:1 lessons, healthy back classes, pre and post natal Pilates classes/1:1 lessons. She also has a level 3 qualification for designing Pilates programmes for bone health.
