Short Workout: Pilates for Bone Health with Lynn Edmonstone
Shorter Workouts (up to 20 mins)
•
16m
This short ‘Pilates for Bone Health’ workout is ideal for anyone with Osteopenia or Osteoporosis. It covers a selection of exercises which target the main sites that are at high risk of fracture due to low bone density (namely the hips, wrists and spine). The workout is suitable for use by teachers with their clients or for clients to perform at home, although we encourage any clients diagnosed with Osteopenia or Osteoporosis to get clearance from their GP to exercise and to seek the advice of a Pilates teacher who holds a Bone Health qualification (more details can be found on http://www.bodycontrolpilates.com/shop/teacher-finder.php)

Lynn began using Body Control Pilates 17 years ago whilst at drama school. She found it an excellent tool for actors. Initially, she trained for 3 years as a teacher of the Alexander Technique and subsequently trained and qualified as a Pilates Matwork teacher with Body Control Pilates. She finds these two techniques work well together to ensure any movement is done with ease, no excess tension and with good alignment.
