We are delighted to welcome Birthe to Body Control Pilates Central with her first masterclass, which looks at mobilising and strengthening the shoulder girdle and thoracic spine.
In this class, Birthe uses a combination of both Body Control Pilates exercises and Franklin Method work and explores how the added resistance of a theraband can provide extra challenge for the shoulders.
This class uses long (approx. 4 metres), medium resistance therabands – if you do not have a long band, 2 shorter ones tied together will work!

Birthe Brosolat has been teaching movement for more than 35 years. Working as a full-time freelance movement educator and based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Birthe qualified with Body Control Pilates in 2008 and has since become a Matwork Master Teacher and Studio Master Teacher. She is also a member of the Body Control Tutor Team in Scandinavia. Birthe is also certified as a Franklin Method Movement Educator.
Birthe finds the body and the mind endlessly fascinating. She thrives in learning new insights and getting ‘nerdy’ about how the body and the mind work and how they communicate with each other to create good and efficient movement. She believes that movement should be fun and make you feel good - and that is what she likes to bring across in her teaching.
Birthe focuses on creating awareness of how we move and, if necessary, creating a change in our movement patterns to make movement more enjoyable, allowing us to maintain a healthy body and mind. Exploring the tools to bring about awareness and create change is the driver of combining her knowledge of Pilates and The Franklin Method with other disciplines, such as fascia-related training, Feldenkrais and neurodynamics.
