Matt has been a personal trainer since 2003 and has been involved in every aspect of the fitness industry including: teaching fitness classes; working on exercise referral schemes and running childrens weight management groups. He spent over a decade managing a gymnasium which was part of a large orthopaedic clinic where he worked as post rehabilitation specialist and was involved in delivering a range of private and NHS-funded rehab schemes including community stroke rehabilitation groups.
Matt had suffered back pain for some time and in late 2003 was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Pilates was prescribed as part of his treatment and Matt was so impressed with the results and how it changed his life, that in 2005 he became a Pilates teacher. In 2013 Matt completed the Body Control Pilates Conversion course and is thrilled to be continuing his teaching with Body Control Pilates.
