Hip Extension Freedom...who doesn’t want more of that? There are many reasons we often struggle attaining our full range of movement in hip extension and it’s not just about stretching ‘tight hip flexors’. This session is focused on strengthening our hip extensors, including looking at the role of adductor magnus which is often neglected.
The class starts with small movements using the support of the floor but builds to more dynamic exercises working with your own body weight to build strength and support around the hips.

Katherine has been teaching Body Control Pilates since 2009 and has since gone on to gain her Master Matwork and Comprehensive Studio certifications. She is a member of the Body Control Pilates UK and international teacher training team for matwork and one-day courses, and has made regular trips to China and Qatar on behalf of Body Control Pilates. Katherine found Pilates when she stopped doing ballet and was looking for a form of exercise to fill its shoes. With Pilates she discovered a new way to stay strong and healthy without it feeling like a chore. Katherine started raving about Pilates to anyone that would listen and how great she felt physically and mentally. Eventually the penny dropped and she decided to train as a teacher. Katherine now works with clients of all ages and abilities endeavouring to always give them instruction with the appropriate focus, be it to relax, energise, concentrate or just work hard! In addition to her course tutoring, she teaches matwork and studio work to a wide variety of loyal clients. It's this accessibility that really appeals - "Pilates is for everyone."
