Sasha Davis has been teaching Pilates for more than 30 years and has maintained an active connection with Body Control Pilates since its inception.
Originally from London, Sasha is now based in Houston, Texas. She came to Pilates through dance, having entered the world of ballet at the age of 4.
At the Royal Ballet School, she was selected for further study by Dame Ninette de Valois and it was at this time (aged 13) that Sasha took her first Pilates class. She went on to become a member of the Royal Opera Ballet Company at Covent Garden and of the San Francisco Ballet.
After suffering an injury which curtailed her dancing, she studied Pilates under Alan Herdman before moving to Houston and joining his staff at the Houston Ballet Academy. After 10 years there, she established the Pilates programme at the Houstonian Spa and Club alongside her work at Pilates Concepts of Houston.
Sasha is a certified Gyrotonic instructor and continues her studies in Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis as well as ensuring she continues to update her knowledge of the Pilates technique. Sasha teaches at the Body Control Pilates Centre whenever she is in the UK.
